The roundtable on justice, crime prevention and artificial intelligence in Latin America was organized by C Minds, the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics of UNICRI and the British Embassy in Mexico.
The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have signed a new agreement to implement the project: “Strengthening capacities to identify and mitigate chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) proliferation financing risks in Southeast Asia”.
On 24 and 25 October 2022, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) held an awareness raising workshop on emerging trends and threats related to proliferation financing for Filipino authorities, followed by consultations with national stakeholders, in Manila.
On 21-22 March 2022, the 15th Round-Table Meeting (RTM) for the Central Asia region took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), within the framework of the European Union (EU) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Centres of Excellence Initiative (CoE).
After the successful meetings with authorities of Lao PDR, UNICRI continued its in-country missions to CONTACT Southeast Asia’s partner countries by traveling to Phnom Penh, capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Within this context and in the framework of the CONTACT SEA project, on 21-22 March 2022, UNICRI held a 2-day workshop with Cambodian authorities in charge of combating illicit trafficking of radiological and nuclear (RN) material.
On 17-18 March 2022, UNICRI traveled to Vientiane for a workshop with Lao People's Democratic Republic’s authorities in charge of combating the trafficking of radiological and nuclear (RN) material. The workshop was conducted within the framework of the project “CONTACT – Enhancing capacities to prevent the trafficking of radiological and nuclear material in Southeast Asia”.
