The Inter-Agency Coordination Group against Trafficking in Persons (ICAT) congratulates Nadia Murad on her receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize. Ms. Murad, a UNODC Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking is the first survivor of trafficking to receive the prize. In addition to the powerful work she has done to raise awareness of trafficking, she helped establish a United Nations investigation into the crimes that she and others endured.

Over the last 50 years the Institute has centered its crime prevention, justice and human rights protection programmes on gender issues and reducing the factors of vulnerability of women and girls.
A technical meeting on measuring the Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) took place in Turin on 25 October 2018. The meeting was organized within the framework of the programme Building Knowledge on SDG 16 that UNICRI is implementing thanks to the support of Compagnia di San Paolo. This programme aims to enhance knowledge on the progress and challenges associated with measuring and achieving Goal 16 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
